Wednesday TV Picks: ‘Suburgatory’ season finale on ABC

‘Suburgatory’

Another quriky sitcom that excels due to its top-notch cast. Jane Levy stars as Tessa Altman, a teenager who moved to suburbia from New York City with her dad (Jeremy Sisto). And while the residents of Chastwin (including Cheryl Hines, Ana Gasteyer, Alan Tudyk and Allie Grant) at first appeared to be odd/cute suburbanites, as the second season progressed, they’ve gotten downright strange. Still, this is a clever, well-written comedy, that ABC would be smart to renew. One-hour season finale 8 p.m. Wednesday on ABC (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).

Also on Wednesday

“MLB Baseball,” 7 p.m. (ROOT): Detroit Tigers at Seattle Mariners (Live).

“Survivor: Caramoan,” 8 p.m. (CBS): An accident threatens a contestant’s future in the game; a big revelation pushes an alliance into chaos.

“Nature,” 8 p.m. (KCTS): “The Mystery of Eels”: Writer James Prosek uncovers the mystery of the eel.

“Boston’s Finest,” 9 p.m. (TNT): Patrol officer Jenn Penton is called upon to solve problems; Jenn’s twin sister reaches out for help; the fugitive unit pursues a rape suspect; the gang unit assists in another SWAT raid.

“Restaurant Stakeout,” 10 p.m. (Food): The staff of the Bayou in North Bellmore, N.Y., treats the place more like Mardi Gras than a restaurant.

“The Americans,” 10 p.m. (FX): Elizabeth takes on a dangerous mission she can’t complete without Philip’s help and places the couple on a collision course with Grannie.
