The Associated Press

The granddaughter of a man whose body was discovered north of Sedro Woolley is being held on investigation of second-degree murder and identity theft.

The Skagit County sheriff's office says Dean Jackson's body was discovered in a rural area Monday afternoon. He was reported missing Feb. 16.

His granddaughter, Ami Morin, was arrested Feb. 19 following an investigation by detectives from several agencies. Morin is currently being held in the Skagit County Jail.

The sheriff's office says a warrant has been issued for a 32-year-old man, Ashlee Smith, on investigation of second-degree murder and identity theft.
