Oscar-nominated shorts: Two separate programs (one for animated and one for live-action) of the short films nominated for this year’s Academy Awards. They open Friday at the Harvard Exit.

“Warm Bodies”: This zom-rom-com about the relationship between a zombie and a human is based on the novel by Isaac Marion. It has midnight previews Thursday and opens Friday at several theaters.

“Bullet to the Head”: Sylvester Stallone stars in this action drama from director Walter Hill (“48 Hours”). It also has midnight previews Thursday, and opens Friday at several theaters.

“Stand Up Guys”: Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin star as retired gangsters who reunite in this new comedy from director Fisher Stevens. It opens Friday at several theaters.

“Consuming Spirits”: Chris Sullivan’s animated story of Appalachian men and a backwoods DUI opens Friday at the Northwest Film Forum.

“In Another Country”: The first English-language film from South Korean director Hong Sang-soo stars Isabelle Huppert in three overlapping storiylines. It opens Friday at the Grand Illusion.
