Bellevue dentist charged with rape

The Associated Press

King County prosecutors say a Bellevue dentist sexually assaulted three of his women employees, including pinning one of them against a wall and touching her genitals.

Seattlepi.com reports (http://bit.ly/WgSvBr) Kam Derakshani has been charged with third-degree rape and unlawful imprisonment, as well as indecent liberties, Washington's law against unwanted sexual touching. His license was suspended in August.

The 48-year-old Derakshani, a Mercer Island resident, operated out of Bellevue Advanced Dental Clinic.

Bellevue police launched an investigation after all three women went to detectives to tell their story, despite his threats to fire them if they went to authorities.

Prosecutors have asked that he be held on $50,000 bail, though he has not been jailed in the case.
