Portland stabbing suspect may have killed at Kelso

The Associated Press

Newly unsealed court documents show why officials think a Portland-area homicide suspect also killed in Washington.

At the request of KGW ( http://is.gd/rsYoTf), a Clackamas County judge unsealed search warrants for Erik Meiser.

The 38-year-old is undergoing a mental evaluation at Oregon State Hospital for his aggravated murder charge in the September death of Fritz Hayes. Hayes was killed with a machete after he discovered a burglar at his Lake Oswego home.

The search warrant information says after his arrest Meiser told investigators he stabbed a man in a tent last summer at a campsite along the Cowlitz River at Kelso. The search warrant says DNA tests on bloody evidence links that killing to the machete.

Meiser has not been charged yet in the death of the camper, Nick Flickett.
