‘Twee’ Seapony plays Chop Suey Thursday

Seattle up-and-comers Seapony didn’t invent the strain of affectionate, youthful guitar pop known as “twee” — ’80s and ’90s bands like Scotland’s Vaselines and Portland’s Softies did. But on “Falling,” Seapony’s second album, principals Jennifer Weidl and Danny Rowland speak to the resiliency of this indie subgenre with lithe vocals, winsome hooks and expressive Telecaster jangle. 8 p.m. Thursday, Chop Suey, 1325 E.
