‘Holiday in Volunteer Park’ A new seasonal tradition kicks off Thursday when “Holiday in Volunteer Park” debuts on the concourse between the Volunteer Park Conservatory and Water Tower, in front of the Seattle Asian Art Museum. The event, coordinated by the newly formed Volunteer Park Trust (in partnership with SAAM, the Conservatory, the Seattle Parks Foundation and Seattle Parks and Recreation), is billed as “a fun, free, family-friendly holiday celebration with carols and music performed by nine choral groups.” There’ll be complimentary drinks and treats, plus a holiday-lights display. SAAM will be open until 9 p.m., and the Conservatory stays open until 8 p.m. The festivities themselves are 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at Volunteer Park, Seattle; free (206-790-8927 or www.volunteerparktrust.org)
