Eastern Washington handles Cal Poly

CHENEY — Vernon Adams threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns as Eastern Washington defeated Cal Poly 34-17 Saturday.
Adams hit Brandon Kaufman on scoring passes of 43 and 10 yards, and found Greg Herd from 28 yards out while completing 19 of 29 passes for the Eagles (7-2). He also rushed for 68 yards.
Deonte Williams had 100 yards rushing on 20 carries for Cal Poly (7-2), and Kristaan Ivory added a career-high 94 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Andre Broadous was 10 of 18 passing for 129 yards, with one TD and one interception.
At Central Wash. 36, Western Oregon 32
Anthony Spain's 19-yard touchdown catch with 3:05 remaining lifted the Wildcats over Western Oregon.
Central (6-4, 6-3 GNAC) moves into a tie for the GNAC lead with Humboldt State, which lost 41-37 to Simon Fraser.
At Pacific Lutheran 35, Whitworth 14
Scoring touchdowns on four of its first five possessions, Pacific Lutheran (6-2, 5-1 NWC) built an early lead and cruised to a Northwest Conference win over Whitworth (6-3, 2-3).
For the Lutes, Brandon James carried nine times for 88 yards and had four receptions for another 80 yards.
For the Pirates, Bryan Peterson was 19 for 32 for 189 yards with two touchdowns.
Linfield 47, at Puget Sound 7
Micky Inns threw for 422 yards and three touchdowns and Linfield (8-0, 5-0) piled up 692 yards of total offense to smash the Loggers (0-8. 0-5) in a Northwest Conference game.
Austin Wagner had 66 yards on 13 carries and scored the Loggers' only touchdown on a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter.
