TACOMA — Carlos Triunfel hit a two-run double to back the pitching of Erasmo Ramirez as Tacoma beat Las Vegas 4-1 in a Pacific Coast League game on Sunday before 6,937 at Cheney Stadium.
Triunfel's hit put Tacoma ahead 2-0 in the second inning. Alex Liddi drove in the other runs for the Rainiers with singles in the fourth and eighth.
Ramirez (5-3) did the rest, allowing only four hits and an unearned run in 7-1/3 innings. The 22-year-old right-hander struck out six and walked two.
Shawn Kelley got the final five outs to claim his sixth save while lowering his earned-run average to 0.95.
Darren Ford and Luis Antonio Jimenez each had a pair of hits for the Rainiers (58-77).
At Everett 6, Yakima 3
Alfredo Morales and Dario Pizzano had RBI singles during a three-run eighth as Everett beat Yakima in a Northwest League game at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Taylor Ard hit a three-run homer for the AquaSox (15-17 second half).
