Dance the summer away for free

Put on your dancing shoes and dance for free at Seattle parks. You've got two more chances this summer as the "Dancing 'Til Dusk" program winds up.

On Aug. 28, dancers of all ages and abilities can dance along to the band Swing'n in the Rain (with Dina Blade) at downtown's Westlake Park (401 Pine St.). It's swing dancing, so pull out your vintage skirt or snappy suit. The dancing goes from 6 to 9:30 p.m., with the first hour a beginning lesson.

The season's finale is Aug. 30 at the SAM Olympic Sculpture Park along the downtown waterfront (2901 Western Ave.). It's a "Ball Blanc" so dress in something white. And dance, dance, dance — waltz, fox trot, swing and polka to the music of KGB from 6 to 9 p.m.
