Mercer Island LL team faces Montana next

Mercer Island will try to improve to 2-0 on Sunday at the Little League Baseball Northwest Regional tournament in San Bernardino, Calif.

Friday night, Mercer Island won its tournament opener over Gresham, Ore., 6-4. The Washington state champions face Billings, Mont., at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Mercer Island is scheduled to play Post Falls, Idaho, on Monday, and Cody, Wyo., on Tuesday.

Four teams in the six-team regional advance to Thursday's semifinals.
