Fit & Fun: Gumshoe 5K Walk in Phinney Ridge and Greenwood

By Richard Seven
Seattle Times staff reporter

Fit & Fun |

Churn your deductive reasoning along with your feet and join the annual Gumshoe 5K Walk in Seattle's Phinney Ridge and Greenwood neighborhoods.

Entry forms, available at various neighborhood businesses, cost $20 apiece, but the price drops to $15 if you buy at least two at a time. The forms contain 30 clues that must be solved in sequence.

Participants can complete the course in a few hours or take as long as 10 days. Forms must be submitted to sales outlets by 6 p.m. on Aug. 12 to be eligible for a drawing for more than $1,000 worth of prizes (from dinners to a tour of the Woodland Park Zoo).

The event, which begins Friday, will raise money for the Greenwood Senior Center, Greenwood Food Bank and Greenwood Elementary School PTA.
