Thursday TV Picks: MTV's 'Awkward.'

'Awkward.'

This adorable little show, now humming along in its second season, is a pleasant respite from MTV's slew of reality show hot-tub high jinks. Ashley Rickards stars as Jenna Hamilton, a high schooler dealing with all the horrors of that phase of life: nutty parents; two maybe, maybe-not boyfriends; and enough quirky schoolmates to fill a 1980s John Hughes movie. 10:30 p.m. Thursday on MTV (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
