Wenzel's horses favored in 2 stakes races Sunday

By From track Reports

AUBURN — Trainer Tom Wenzel will look to extend his dominance in the 3-year-old stakes divisions at Emerald Downs on Sunday.

Wenzel has the horse to beat in both the $50,000 Seattle Slew Handicap for males and the $50,000 Kent Handicap for fillies.

The Wenzel-trained Makors Finale will be looking for his third stakes win of the season in the Seattle Slew stakes, and Exclusive Diva, another Wenzel horse, is looking for her third stakes win of the season in the Kent race. Both are 1-1/16 miles.

D'honorable One and Makors Finale finished in a dead heat for the win in May's Auburn Handicap, then Makors Finale prevailed over D'honorable One by three-quarters of a length in last month's Coca-Cola Handicap after a long stretch duel.

Note

• Jockey Leonel Camacho-Flores' injuries from a spill were less serious than previously reported and he is day to day, agent Ken Green said Saturday morning.

"Nothing is broken, Leonel has a bad bruise on his arm and stitches in his lip," Green said. "His lip's a bit swollen, but it could have been worse."

Initially it was feared that Camacho-Flores had broken an arm in a Friday-evening spill that occurred in the seventh race when Send Silver tripped and unseated the jockey.
