Tacoma starter Blake Beavan allowed two hits over seven innings as the Rainiers handled the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 5-1 in a Pacific Coast League game at Cheney Stadium Thursday night.
The Rainiers (39-51) got solo home runs from center fielder Darren Ford and second baseman Carlos Triunfel and won their third straight game in their first outing after the All-Star break.
Beavan, a 6-foot-7 right-hander from Irving, Texas, had three strikeouts and improved to 4-0 on the year.
Danny Hultzen, fresh off his performance in the All-Star Futures Game, will take the mound Friday night against the Sky Sox (45-45).
Everett 9, Tri-City 3
Christopher Taylor had three hits and two RBI as the AquaSox (21-7) beat the Dust Devils in a Northwest League game at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Victor Sanchez improved to 4-0, allowing five hits in six innings, while Dominic Leone earned his first save of the season.
