Pedro Perez / The Seattle Times, 1993

Alex Rodriguez is introduced by Mariner General Manager Woody Woodward on Aug. 30, 1993. Rodriguez, who had just turned 18 a month earlier, spent the winter of 1993-94 playing in the Arizona Instructional League. Rodriguez had graduated from Westminster Christian High School in Miami in June 1993.
