Mick Jagger, left, and Keith Richards perform in 1974, the year that saw the release of "It's Only Rock 'N Roll," which launched the eponymous single as well as a hit cover of the Temptations' classic "Ain't Too Proud To Beg." Jagger and Richards have been the backbone of the group since its inception, and over the decades provided a darker counterpoint to the Beatles' principle songwriting duo of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
