The Seattle Times/AIA Home of the Year is selected every spring from the homes featured the year before as The Seattle Times/American Institute of Architects open houses. These homes, selected for publication by members of the AIA's Seattle chapter, appear in the Home/Real Estate section about once a month. This year's Home of the Year judges were architects L. Jane Hastings and James Castanes, plus homeowner John Nuler, whose West Seattle remodel won last year's Home of the Year honors.
