Video: My tribute to George Hickman on KING 5's New Day NW
I was on KING 5's New Day NW this morning talking about many sports-related topics, including the Mariners' success post-Ichiro, Terrell Owens and, of course, Felix Hernandez's perfect game and the new "Felixing" craze that has pretty much gone viral.
But what meant the most to me about this television appearance was that I was able to say a few words at the beginning about George Hickman, the former Tuskegee Airman and longtime Washington Huskies and Seahawks usher who died this week. George was an incredible, positive friend to me, as well as to countless others.
I'm planning to write some words about George in this space, but I'm waiting until I can write it as eloquently as I want it to be. I should be able to get to that in the next day or so. In the meantime, please click here to check out this video and hear what I had to say about George.
We have to share his story as much as possible to ensure his legacy endures. What an amazing man.
