Seattle police officer to Tweet Tuesday
Posted by Jeff Hodson
It's time for another tweet-along with the Seattle Police Department.
For those who always wanted to go on a ride-along with a cop, this is a chance for the virtual version, says Sgt. Sean Whitcomb, spokesman for the police department.
Officer Audi Acuesta of the North Precinct will post brief messages, on the police department's Twitter account @SeattlePD, of the calls he responds to on his beat from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Acuesta patrols roughly from Interstate 5 to 35th Avenue Northeast and from Northeast Ravenna Boulevard to Northeast 95th Street.
"Police responses will be summarized in easily digestible bites of 140 characters or less," Whitcomb said. "Pictures will be included as appropriate."
Last month, two bike squad officers held a tweet-along for a day. And in July, police bombarded about 10,000 followers of the Twitter account with nearly every call reported to officers, except for certain cases, such as domestic violence.
Tuesday's tweet-along will focus on just one officer.
