Police arrest suspect in West Seattle arson
Posted by By Jack Broom
Seattle police have made an arrest in a house fire Tuesday in West Seattle.
The male suspect, who was outside the home when firefighters arrived, had been taken to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation of possible injuries from the fire. He was later arrested on investigation of arson and had not been charged as of early Thursday.
A firefighter suffered minor burns to his ear and was also taken to the hospital, according to the Seattle Fire Department's website.
The fire broke out about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in a two-story, single-family residence in the 7100 block of 39th Avenue Southwest in the Gatewood neighborhood.
Firefighters found flames in three separate rooms in the house, the website says. The fire was controlled within 15 minutes. Damage to the home and contents was estimated at $105,000
