Issaquah teen killed in three-car collision on I-405
Posted by John de Leon
UPDATE: The person killed has been identified as Tyler Lucas, 18.
-- From Times staff reporter Sara Jean Green:
An 1817-year-old Issaquah man was fatally injured in a three-car collision Tuesday morning on Interstate 405, according to the State Patrol.
Around 10:20 a.m., Tyler Lucas was driving in the left lane on north I-405, just north of Interstate 90, when his 2005 Dodge Neon struck a Chevy Suburban driven by Peter Gradwohl of Mountlake Terrace, the Patrol said. Both vehicles crossed all lanes of traffic, striking a Honda Accord driven by Shelly Keene of Renton, before coming to rest in the far right lane.
The Lucas was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died, according to the Patrol.
Gradwohl was taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. Keene was treated for minor injuries. The collision is under investigation.
