UPDATE: A report from Bellevue police on Tuesday said the man used an Airsoft gun in the attack. The gun shoots pellets.

A 25-year-old camera salesman was arrested Sunday afternoon after police say he randomly shot at a group of day laborers in the parking lot of a Bellevue Home Depot store. No one was injured.

Just before 1 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Home Depot at 325 120th Ave. N.E. after someone reported that shots had been fired, according to the Bellevue police report.

At least three men told officers that a man wearing a red T-shirt and driving a green Ford Explorer had sped off after firing shots at the group of day laborers, the report says. No one was hit. "None of the witnesses could pinpoint any one person who the shots were being fired at, but the entire crowd agreed that they were in fear of being shot," the report says.

An officer went into the Best Buy next to the Home Depot parking lot and interviewed employees, who identified the driver as a camera vendor who had worked in the store that day, the report says. Employees saw him leave the store just before 1 p.m.

Soon after leaving the store, the man "called the store and was reportedly nervous, made an excuse about a family emergency, and left in a hurry, asking the employees to hold onto his property for him," the report says.

The officer called the man on his cell phone and convinced him to return to the scene, where he was identified by witnesses as the person who had shot at the day laborers. The man's vehicle also matched their description.

The man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault and is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
