State Patrol: Motorcyclist performing stunts before fatal crash

Posted by John de Leon

The State Patrol says a 22-year-old Sammamish man was killed early Sunday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle after he was seen performing stunts on Highway 202 near Redmond.

A State Patrol trooper was conducting a traffic stop on 202 near Northeast Ames Lake Road when a speeding motorcycle passed his patrol car while doing a "wheelie," according to the State Patrol.

A few minutes later a passing motorist told the trooper the motorcyclist had crashed in the road. The trooper went to the accident site, but couldn't find the motorcyclist. Troopers used a thermal-imaging device to find the motorcyclist's body.
