Woman walking on street stabbed in W. Seattle

Posted by Cathy McLain

from staff reporter Carol M. Ostrom

A 40-year-old woman walking with her 9-year-old daughter in West Seattle was stabbed Friday afternoon and was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A 22-year-old man has been booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.

Seattle police said it does not appear the two knew one another.

The assault took place at the corner of Lanham Place Southwest and Southwest Graham Street.

Witnesses saw the suspect run away from the site of the assault into a residence at the 6300 block of 29th Avenue Southwest, and police surrounded the residence and arrested the suspect when he opened the door.
