Cultures and musical styles will mix as artists from the U.S., Canada, China and Korea come together this weekend for “A Colorful Musical Journey.” Chinese folk melodies and Western symphonic music are on the program, as well as traditional instruments such as the jinghu, a string instrument used primarily in Chinese opera. (An example of the melding: Matthew Rehfeldt, of Bellingham, shown here, will use a cello to play a Chinese melody, blending Western with Eastern technique). 7 p.m. Sunday, Benaroya Hall, 200 University St., Seattle; $20-$100 (206-215-4747 or benaroyahall.org).
