Readings and workshops of plays by Northwest writers Justin Huertas, Samuel D. Hunter, Robert Schenkkan and Elizabeth Heffron (with Kit Bakke) will be staged at Seattle Repertory Theatre as part of its revived New Play Program, running Jan. 5-Feb. 3, 2013.

The fest will include Schenkkan's Lyndon B. Johnson bio-play "All the Way" Parts 1 and 2, (commissioned by Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Seattle Rep, respectively), Idaho-born Hunter's "Exodus," about the faith-based counseling of children with "homosexual tendencies": and local actor Huertas' play, "Lizard Boy With Cello," about a young musician with superpowers.

"Exodus" and "Lizard" are both Seattle Rep commissions.

Heffron's "The Weatherman Project," co-authored with Bakke, a Seattle writer and former member of the radical Weathermen group, will also be aired.

New Play Festival ticket packages will go on sale to the general public Nov. 15; single tickets go on sale in January. Info: 206-443-2222 or www.seattlerep.org.
