An assortment of works new and familiar to Seattle are on the docket for Taproot Theatre's 2013 season.

The Greenwood theater will present the following:

"Jeeves in Bloom" (Feb. 1-March 2, 2013), local premiere of a comedy based on the comic P.G. Wodehouse stories of an English gent and his very helpful butler, Jeeves.

"The Whipping Man" (March 29-April 27), the Seattle debut of Matthew Lopez's provocative drama about a Jewish Confederate soldier who returns from war to spend an unusual Passover with former slaves.

"Bach at Leipzig" (May 17-June 15), a farce by Itamar Moses inspired by the musical rivalries in the 18th-century Germany of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries.

"Illyria" (July 12-Aug. 10), a musical by Peter Mills and Cara Reichel, based on Shakespeare's romantic comedy "Twelfth Night."

"The Matchmaker" (Sept. 20-Oct. 19), a vintage Thornton Wilder comedy about an eager Yonkers marriage broker, the basis for the musical "Hello Dolly."
