Just added to the Bumbershoot lineup: "Symphony Untuxed," a program hosted by Seattle Symphony Orchestra music director Ludovic Morlot in which he'll be joined by select members of the SSO.
Morlot will introduce each piece, interview the musicians on stage and share his plans for the symphony. He'll also join the musicians as violinist for one of the works.
The program includes: Tom Johnson's Failing: A Very Difficult Piece for Solo String Bass, in which bassist Joseph Kaufman will carry on a conversation with the audience while performing; a new piece for electric bassoon, written and performed by Seattle Symphony principal bassoon Seth Krimsky; selections from Philip Glass' String Quartet No. 5; Anthony DiLorenzo's "Street Musicians"; and selections from Vivaldi's Double Violin Concerto in A minor.
9:45 p.m. Sept. 4, Bagley Wright Theatre, at Seattle Center. Bumbershoot ticket info: www.bumbershoot.org.
