‘Klondike’

The Discovery channel stakes its claim in scripted-miniseries territory with this adaptation of Charlotte Gray’s novel “Gold Diggers: Striking it Rich in the Klondike.” The story follows two childhood friends (played by Richard Madden and Augustus Prew) as they try to survive in the 1890s Yukon Territory. Series premiere, 9 p.m. Monday Jan. 20, on Discovery (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
