Sunday TV Pick: Christopher Guest’s ‘Family Tree’ on HBO
TV picks for Sunday, May 12, 2013, include the new “Family Tree” on HBO, “Revenge” on ABC and “Mad Men” on AMC.
Tonight in Prime Time
A simply adorable (and yes, quirky) comedy from Christopher Guest (“Best in Show” and “Waiting for Guffman”). It centers on 30-year-old Tom Chadwick (Chris O’Dowd), who inherits a mysterious box from a great aunt, and goes about investigating his lineage, to unexpected, touching and hilarious results. O’Dowd is great as a lonely Everyman, and the supporting cast is delightfully weird. Series premiere, 10:30 p.m. on HBO (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
