‘Family Tools’

In this new comedy, a young man jumps in to save the family business (“Mr. Jiffy-Fix”) after his father suffers a heart attack. Kyle Bornheimer and J.K. Simmons are fun as the father and son, and there are a few laughs from Edi Gathegi, who plays a goofy assistant, but the show seems to be treading water. Let’s see if ABC will stick with it long enough for it to find its footing. 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on ABC (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
