After almost two hours of waffling — “I know I could love Lindsay but I also know I could love Catherine” — “The Bachelor” star Sean Lowe chose Seattle’s Catherine Giudici, a 26-year-old graphic designer.
In Monday’s two-hour finale, both Giudici and runner-up Lindsay Yenter went on final dates with Lowe in Chiang Rai, Thailand, where the women also met Lowe’s family.
“I was very, very skeptical at the beginning,” Giudici told Lowe’s family of the prospect of finding a husband via a TV show.
Giudici got frustrated after their final date when she told Lowe she loved him and he replied, “Thank you for today.”
“I know it’s either going to be heartbreaking or the best thing that could happen to me,” Giudici said. “It’s going to change my life in the biggest way. That’s scary to me.”
But after casting aside Lindsay —“I think it’s important you know how hard this is for me,” Lowe said as Yenter appeared to be crushed — Lowe proposed to Giudici: “I want to spend the rest of my life telling you I love you and making you feel like the most special, beautiful woman in the world.”
Giudici accepted his proposal before they were carried away into the sunset aboard an elephant.
“Oh my gosh, you look so handsome,” Giudici said. “I’m so addicted to you.”
In addition to their wedding, which will be televised by ABC at some point in the near future (no date announced), Lowe has joined the cast of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” which has its 16th season premiere on March 18.
