‘Downton Abbey’

American fans have been waiting nearly a year for the return of this glorious and oh-so-satisfying British miniseries. While much has been made about the guest appearance of Shirley MacLaine — she’s wonderful, by the way — there are many other things to celebrate. My favorites: that deliciously wicked pair of servants, Thomas and O’Brien (Rob James-Collier and Siobhan Finneran); the restrained-but-changing Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville); and the force of nature that is the Dowager Countess (Dame Maggie Smith). Prepare some tea and crumpets and luxuriate in the two-hour season premiere, 9 p.m. Sunday on KCTS (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).

Also on Sunday

“Bob’s Burgers,” 8:30 p.m. (Fox): Linda forces Louise to attend a mother-daughter seminar in hopes of improving their relationship; Tina asks Bob to teach her to shave her legs.

“Revenge,” 9 p.m. (ABC): Victoria starts planning a scheme that includes Emily; Emily locks in on a new target; Declan learns something that may threaten the Stowaway’s future.

“The Biggest Loser,” 9 p.m. (NBC): Fifteen adults and three young teens come to the ranch to lose weight and change their lives; Jillian Michaels returns to train contestants along with Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince.

“The Good Wife,” 9 p.m. (CBS): Louis Canning’s attempts to delay a deposition could complicate Will’s latest and potentially lucrative case; Diane and Will have a faceoff with Clarke.

“Rachael vs. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off,” 9 p.m. (Food): The teams must cook a prix fixe menu for a dinner theater and perform a skit for the patrons.

“Hoosiers” (1986), 10 p.m. (Sundance): A college basketball coach leaves the Navy in 1951 and becomes coach of an underdog Indiana high-school team.
