‘1600 Penn’
’Tis the season for holiday specials and movies all over television this week (the George C. Scott version of “A Christmas Carol” is on tonight), so for a bit of alternative programming, NBC is giving us a preview of a new sitcom that will premiere in January. Bill Pullman stars as the President of the United States, who must cope with, among other things, the return of his adult son (Josh Gad from Broadway’s “The Book of Mormon”). 9:30 p.m. Monday on NBC (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
Also on Monday
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” 8 p.m. (ABC): The team helps build a home for a family that adopted five siblings so they wouldn’t be separated.
“Gossip Girl,” 8 p.m. (CW): Gossip Girl’s identity is finally revealed.
“Nick News with Linda Ellerbee,” 8 p.m. (Nickelodeon): Children and celebrities discuss annoying things that siblings do.
“A Christmas Carol” (1984), 8 p.m. (AMC): Ebenezer Scrooge meets the ghosts of Christmases past, present and yet to come.
