Sunday TV Picks: ‘Amazing Race’ season finale on CBS
TV picks for Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, include the season finale of “The Amazing Race” on CBS, “The Simpsons” on Fox and “Oprah’s Next Chapter” on OWN.
After 10 episodes of lost passports, synchronized swimming, U-turns, ditch jumping and windmill repair (in Spain!), the 11 teams have been winnowed down to four. Tonight those four teams will race though France toward the finish line and the $1 million prize. Two-hour season finale, 8 p.m. Sunday on CBS (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
“NFL Football,” 1 p.m. (Fox): Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks (Live).
“Disney Prep & Landing,” 8 p.m. (ABC): An elite unit of elves, Prep & Landing, ensures that homes around the world are properly prepared to be visited by Santa Claus each Christmas Eve.
“The Simpsons,” 8 p.m. (Fox): Homer befriends his hip new neighbors from Portland, Ore., but Marge disapproves of their parenting methods, and Bart finds their son pretentious.
“Miracle on 34th Street” (1947), 8 p.m. (AMC): An adwoman’s lawyer boyfriend tries to prove that Macy’s Santa Claus is the real thing.
“Oprah’s Next Chapter,” 9 p.m. (OWN): On the set of “Scandal,’’ Oprah interviews actress Kerry Washington and creator Shonda Rhimes.
“House Hunters Renovation,” 10 p.m. (HGTV): A couple wants to merge their styles and create a room for entertaining.
