'How "Jaws" Changed the World'

It's "Shark Week," don't ya know, so what better way to celebrate than to get out of the water and watch this documentary about the making of the 1975 film that many still refer to as the first summer blockbuster? The story behind the film is almost as fascinating as the film itself: Peter Benchley's original book was a huge best-seller; Steven Spielberg was a young, mostly unknown director at the time; and the mechanical shark very rarely worked. (Yes, I can still obsesses over this movie). 9 p.m. Tuesday on Discovery — the same day "Jaws" comes out on Blu-ray (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
