'Necessary Roughness'

Callie Thorne is back for a second season of this comedy/drama about the practice and personal life of Long Island therapist Dani Santino. Thorne (so great on "Rescue Me," "The Wire" and "Homicide: Life on the Street") brings grit and humor to her portrayal of a newly-single mother trying to juggle two teenagers, high-profile clients and any sort of romantic life. Come on, it's clear that Dani and Matthew (Marc Blucas) were made for each other. Season premiere, 10 p.m. Wednesday on USA (seattletimes.com/tvlistings).
