Learn about providing foster care for cats and kittens
Seattle Animal Shelter is offering a free orientation Sunday for people who are interested in opening their hearts and homes to foster felines.
To sign up for the orientation, email sasfostercatsorientation@gmail.com by 5 p.m. Saturday. The session will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday in the upper level conference room at the shelter at 2061 15th Ave. W., Seattle.
Volunteer foster parents provide temporary homes for immature, injured and sick cats and kittens in need of nuturing and rehabilitation or just a break from the shelter setting. The shelter provides any necessary veterinary care.
For the volunteers and their families, the foster program offers a chance to learn about the joys and responsibilities of caring for a pet.
For more information about the foster program and directions to the shelter, call 206-386-7387 or go to www.seattleanimalshelter.org.
