July pet events: Cat deals, Go Dog, Go! festival and adoptions
It's nice to be able to get out, stretch and relax, and there are several pet festivals and other events this month that will let you do just that.
If you're looking to adopt an animal, checkout the special discounts at some events. Several shelters and rescue groups are offering deals because they are at or near capacity and need to get more pets into homes where they too can stretch out and relax.
"To say we're bursting at the seams would be an understatement," wrote Kitsap Humane Society spokeswoman Kristin Lauver in an email. See the "Name Your Price" item at end of this post for more adoption information from KHS.
Here are some of the July events:
Fabulous Felines: Noon-3 p.m. July 14, Loyal Heights Community Center, 2101 N.W. 77th St., Seattle. The Seattle Animal Shelter is waiving the adoption fees on all cats 6 months and older for this one-day event. Licensing fees will still apply. Alley Cat Project will also have cats and kittens available for adoption.
