INDIANAPOLIS – When the Minnesota Lynx needed a basket, Seimone Augustus was in the right position at the right time.
Augustus’ rebound score as time expired lifted the defending champion Lynx to their 10th consecutive victory, 66-64 over the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night.
Lindsay Whalen’s 15-foot baseline jumper rattled around the rim before falling into the hands of Augustus, who finished with 18 points and five rebounds.
“They collapsed in (the middle) and Lindsay got a great look at the basket,” Augustus said. “I was just in great position to get that tip-in rebound.”
While the Lynx (23-6) celebrated the victory, the Fever (13-16) dropped to 6-9 in games decided by five points or less.
