Brian Agler, the Storm’s coach and general manager, made a decision Wednesday that should finalize his WNBA roster, which is due Thursday. He cut forward Michelle Plouffe and signed 11-year veteran Nicole Powell.
Seattle’s roster stands at 11 players. Agler is leaning toward keeping the final slot open. Seattle tips off its 15th season on Friday against Los Angeles at KeyArena.
Plouffe, a 6-foot-4 post, was the team’s 2014 second-round draft pick.
Powell, 6-2, is a career 38.2 percent shooter from three-point range. Powell averaged 10.7 points as a full-time starter during the defunct Sacramento Monarchs’ title run in 2005.
