Point guard Temeka Johnson reported to Storm training camp Thursday, completing the active roster.

Johnson, a nine-year veteran, finished her overseas season in Russia last week but was given time to handle a personal matter. She said reports she injured her back overseas were false. Johnson passed her WNBA physical and will join practice Saturday.

“The club was celebrating its 20-year anniversary and accomplished things it had never accomplished before,” she said of leading Nadezhda Orenburg to its first domestic-league finals.

The Storm played its final closed scrimmage, hosting China at KeyArena on Thursday. Johnson is entering her second season in Seattle and said she liked the way the team looked.

Johnson started at point guard last season while Sue Bird rehabilitated from knee surgery. They’ll play together for the first time in their careers, including overseas competition. Bird faced Johnson in April for the Russian championship.

Bird’s UMMC Ekaterinburg took the title.

Storm coach and general manager Brian Agler said he’ll keep the current 12-player roster until Monday. Seattle hosts Los Angeles on Sunday at KeyArena in its only exhibition. The game will be used as the final evaluation.

The Storm faces the Sparks in its regular-season opener May 16 at KeyArena.
