The Storm has signed Ashley Robinson, who played for the Storm from 2006 through 2011 and was a member of the 2010 WNBA championship team.

Robinson, a 6-foot-4 center, played for the Washington Mystics in 2012 and has not played this season. She will be in uniform Sunday when the Storm hosts the Atlanta Dream at 6 p.m. at KeyArena.

The Storm waived Cierra Bravard to make room for Robinson. Bravard, a 6-4 rookie forward from Florida State, played 27 minutes, appearing in six of the Storm’s 13 games.

“This was an unexpected gift to come back and play my 10th WNBA season in Seattle,” Robinson, 30, said in a release from the team. “I’m most excited about seeing all my Storm Crazies at KeyArena.

Storm coach and general manager Brian Agler said Robinson is an athletic post player familiar with the team.

“We expect Ashley to step right in and give us some depth at the post position,” Agler said.

Robinson has averaged 1.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 12.5 minutes during her nine-year WNBA career. She graduated from Tennessee in 2004 and was drafted in the second round by Phoenix, where she played two seasons.

She was selected by Chicago in the 2006 expansion draft and began that season with the Sky before being traded to Seattle on June 29, 2006.
