Clark's jumper lifts Storm to exhibition win vs. L.A.

Alysha Clark hit a jumper with six seconds left as the Seattle Storm beat the Los Angeles Sparks 67-66 Sunday in an exhibition game on the campus of Long Beach State.

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Alysha Clark hit a jumper with six seconds left as the Seattle Storm beat the Los Angeles Sparks 67-66 Sunday in an exhibition game on the campus of Long Beach State.

Seattle was led by Tina Thompson and Tianna Hawkins, who both scored eight points. Hawkins added five rebounds. Noelle Quinn had six points and seven rebounds, all in the first half. Temeka Johnson chipped in five points and five assists.

Falling behind 19-11 after the first quarter, Seattle opened the second with a barrage of threes. Thompson nailed two and Johnson one and Seattle went on to outscore Los Angeles 29-14, taking a 40-33 lead into the break.

Los Angeles opened the third quarter on a 10-4 run, taking a 56-55 lead. With the game tied at 61-61 with 4:58 left, the teams traded baskets until Clark's last-second jumper. The Sparks missed a three at the buzzer.
