Bottom line: Surprisingly, the league's past two champions in Seattle (2004) and Sacramento (2005) are having rocky starts this summer. The Storm can't play consistently and the Monarchs are 1-3 on the road, losing their past two. The Monarchs are 0-3 against the West on the road. ... Sacramento defeated the Storm twice at Arco Arena earlier this season, including a come-from-behind 76-74 decision on June 17. ... Lennox is averaging 17.4 points in the Storm's past five games. The Storm is 2-3 during that stretch. ... Monarchs forward DeMya Walker, a key piece to their championship run, returned on June 23 after giving birth to her first child in April. ... The Storm lost to Houston 84-74 in its last outing while the Monarchs defeated Indiana 82-61 ... Sacramento leads the all-time series with Seattle 14-8, last winning at KeyArena in 2004. ... Griffith, an all-decade team member, publicly stated she doesn't believe young players should be included. ... During halftime, the Storm will honor five outstanding female leaders in the Seattle community with an inaugural "Women of Inspiration" award, presented by D.A. Davidson.
