Kasey Kahne, the NASCAR Sprint Cup driver from Enumclaw, talked about the Chase, if Washington can get a NASCAR track and more in a live chat with readers Wednesday:
Q: Are you excited about this year’s Chase?
Kahne: Yes, I’m really excited to be part of the Chase. Can’t wait to get started Sunday in Chicago.
Q: Do you feel bad for Jeff Gordon because of the MWR manipulation? Do you think he’ll get revenge on or off the track?
Kahne: I have no idea on revenge. But I definitely feel bad that Jeff didn’t get into the Chase because the MWR guys changed the outcome of the race in Richmond.
Q: Do you ever think Washington state will get a NASCAR track?
Kahne: I used to think they would, but all of that has kind of died down over the years. I’m unsure now. For sure, it would be great to have one here.
Q: If you would had the chance to drive in F1 somedays, would you do it?
Kahne: Who wouldn’t?
Q: What is your opinion about people who say that you are too soft to win the Chase because you won’t bump others or push them aside?
Kahne: I just don’t crash other guys to win. I don’t think that’s going to win you a championship. I can’t remember the last time Jimmy Johnson did that, and he has won five.
Q: Do you have time to follow Seattle sports? Do you have a favorite team?
Kahne: I follow all Seattle sports. The Seahawks are by far my favorite sports team.
Q: What do you think the score of the Seahawks-49ers game will be?
Kahne: It’s going to be loud — very loud — and the Seahawks are going to win by six! I wish I could be there.
