Washington senior Chris Williams was tied for third after two rounds of the Pac-12 men's golf championships at The Los Angeles Country Club.

Williams shot a 4-under 136 along with UCLA Freshman Jonathan Garrick and finished five strokes behind leader Max Homa, a senior from No. 1 California.

The Golden Bears led the team competition after the first day of the four-round tournament with a 5-under 695. The Huskies sit at third with a 9-over 709. Washington State was 12th with a 55-over 755.

UW's Trevor Simsby was tied for sixth with an even-par 140.

Other men's golf

Seattle U ended the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Championships in seventh place at Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson, Nev.

Women's golf

No. 10 Washington will be a No. 4 seed in the Central Region of the NCAA Division I Championship in Norman, Okla., May 9-11.

Track and field

Ali Worthen of Seattle Pacific built a 232-point advantage with 3,224 points in the heptathlon after four events at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Multi-Event Championships in Monmouth, Ore.
