MONTGOMERY, Ala. —

A charter bus carrying home University of Alabama cheerleaders after the BCS championship game was involved in an accident that seriously injured a student who was riding in another vehicle.

Authorities said the crash happened Tuesday night in Montgomery. Police said the accident involved the cheerleaders' bus, which was carrying 31 people; a pickup truck; and a car.

Police say no one on the bus was hurt, but a passenger in the pickup suffered life-threatening injuries and was listed in stable condition.

University spokeswoman Deborah Lane said the injured person was a university student who was riding with three other students. The four were not traveling with the cheerleaders' bus.
