Rip Roarin Ritchie held off two challengers in the deep stretch to win the $60,000 Tyro Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating I'm Boundtoscore by a half-length.

Rip Roarin Ritchie held off two challengers in the deep stretch to win the $60,000 Tyro Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday, beating I'm Boundtoscore by a half-length.
Trained by Wesley Ward and ridden by Elvis Trujillo, the 2-year-old gelding ran five furlongs on the firm turf course in 56.46 and returned $3.60, $2.60 and $2.20. It was the second win in three career starts for Rip Roarin Ritchie, who has earned $70,645.
I'm Boundtoscore paid $3.40 and $2.20, while Itsmyluckyday was a neck back in third and returned $3.
